What is your greatest achievement?
Hello, I’m Prashik and welcome to a “Prashik’s Newsletter. Each week I write something interesting about life, books, podcast, my learnings etc
What is your greatest achievement🏆
What is your greatest achievement?
Answer to this question can be found in, how back one go-to answer this question.
6 months ? 1 year? 5 Year Or 20 years?
How you define your achievements?
Is it define by which college you been to? Or which company you work for? Or? Which product /service you developed? Or which thing you have created on your own?
And answers to this question can be many!
I am not here to judge anyone, but I just want to inquire for the sake of inquiry.
I have seen people who carry their college name as a badge of honour even after graduating 15-20 years ago!
What does this tell about them?
Is it because they have done nothing worth mentioning after college?
I don’t know; I am just inquiring. What answer do you think these people will give?
I have seen people who flaunt their company names, find it in their bio, ex-google, ex-facebook, etc.!. They see where they work as their achievement!
What does this tell about them? Is it working with any XYZ company that qualifies as the greatest achievement of life? What answer do you think these people will give?
I have seen people refrain from acknowledging their college name, even after graduating from the Ivy League colleges.
There are so many of them who created great companies and then discredited their colleges! ( Even education)
Is it because they don’t want people to think that they have achieved or built something just because they been to those colleges!
And don’t want people to ignore the hard work they put into building great companies or things.
What answer do you think these people will give?
What I think! 🤔
In a general scenario, how back one should go to answer this simple question?
I think it depends on how you value your life/time and endless possibilities of what you can do with it!
Albert Einstien used to get frustrated because he wasn’t coming up with any original idea in his latter part of life.
As special and the general theory of relativity was discovered when he was young, probably in his mid 30.
And his frustration was the answer to the above question.
It’s crucial that we all should aspire or continue to create something beautiful year after year.
Again; how back you should go to answer this simple question?
For me I follow a simple rule, I don’t go back 6 months to answer this question!
This helps me to understand how little I have done in the last 6 months.
There is more to do, things to learn, things to create.
Then what about things which I have achieved before six months?
Do you want answers? I really don’t care!
Should you? It's up to you.
But, it helps in your keep re-inventing and creating something year after year. This is the only way one can justify living! 😅
